Last monday when i was in a school in beaufort for MUET speaking test, we had a very interesting discussion on marriage and relationship. yea well, it started off when a single male friend poured out his heart contents saying he has no special someone. He said he hopes that he'll meet someone who can accept him as he is. Well, that got me thinking...accept me as i am? can we really accept someone as he/she is? just like that and we can form a strong solid relationship? I mean, if that someone is arrogant and selfish, can we accept him/her blindly, just like that?
For me, we need to compromise. just accepting blindly is not acceptable anymore. the saying'love is blind' i think is not true anymore. we dont fall in love blindly. first few months maybe, but soon it'll wear out. cos, blind love means u dont see with ur heart and mind. so, 'accept me as i am' is not really true. A strong relationship is built, nurtured, and you grow in the relationship. u dont become static. We have to change to be a better partner in a relationship. Not to say we totally become a new person. hmm...do u have anything else to say...?
